Rei, meaning "spiritual" and
Ki "energy".
So Reiki means Spiritual Energy. Reiki was developed by Usei Mikao of Japan in the early 1900's, brought to Hawaii in 1937 and then to the United States.
Reiki is an energy system that balances Body, Mind and Spirit.
Reiki For Animals
Animals love Reiki and the gentle, non-invasive universal healing energy that flows from the practitioner's hands to them. Your pet can choose how close they wish to be to the Reiki energy and can move in and out of the energy at will.
Some animals become very relaxed and fall asleep, or doze during a Reiki treatment, others have climbed into my lap or laid down as close as they can get to me to receive Reiki, others have moved around until the part that they want the Reiki focused on is in the right area. The animal is always in control of the treatment.
During a Reiki treatment the energy goes where it is needed to balance the body, mind and spirit of the animal and is never forced on the animal. I also am in communicaton with the animal telepathically about their healing and in some cases about their behavioral patterns. Healing happens each session and I have seen significant changes after 3 Reiki sessions.
Reiki is used in many, many animal shelters, sanctuaries and rescues to relieve physical, mental and emotional stress, physical healing, and spiritual healing including the dying process.
